The Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation (SLECIC) has entered into a strategic partnership with LOLC Finance PLC under its APARA scheme to provide a credit guarantee facility covering Cost of Passage Advances for Sri Lankans seeking overseas employment. This initiative enables greater access to structured financing while minimizing risk to both migrant workers and the lending institution.

This agreement marks a key milestone for SLECIC, as it is the first APARA partnership signed with a financial institution of this nature, expanding beyond the scheme’s previous collaborations with commercial banks.

The agreement was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Aruna Shanthaarachchi on behalf of SLECIC and handed over to Krishan Thilakaratne, Director/CEO of LOLC Finance PLC.

The event received extensive media coverage, including publication in Ceylon Today, Daily News, Dinamina, Aruna, Virakesari, Lankadeepa, Mawbima and Sunday Divaina.
